In 1985 a group formed to pursue the idea of forming a co-operating association here in Yoho National Park. A steering committee was assembled, and in November of 1987, the Friends of Yoho Society was registered as a not-for-profit society, with charitable status under the British Columbia Societies Act.

The Friends of Yoho Society promote appreciation, understanding and stewardship of the ecology and culture of Yoho National Park.

Revenue that is generated by the Friends of Yoho Society supports research, cultural preservation, educational activities and other projects to achieve our mandate.
